What is happiness? Happiness is caring for all living creatures, be willing to help others, standing up for the ones without a voice, sharing, listening and lending a hand, being there for each other, having the strength to put the past behind and go on. There is no rhetoric or notebook to help people heal their scars, the personal profile is different in each of us, taking that in consideration, we can work within our own temperament model. In all of us are countless unique characteristics, positive and negative, it is up to each individual not to allow any one of those to overpower the other. Going through my trying times, the panorama became wider, the feelings and attitude changed. I saw the past from an entirely different point of view. One could see how the decisive and demanding became trapped in their inability not to be so defiant. Caught in the middle of the chaos of a war one has to distant himself from being dogmatic and use his driving power to control temper. There is no fast resolution in any circumstance, leave alone being trapped by invading force. I am grateful for having the potential to pull back into my “shell”, my music and determination to survive, were instrumental to find my way to freedom and happiness. I recall the day, my seventh birthday, I was buried alive under a building, during an air attack, I kept saying to myself: ” I am too young to die and too old to be afraid.” Life is a precious gift, I have found happiness in reaching out to people, teaching piano and performing, it is like giving people a gift that nobody can take away, I am hoping that music will help them in their trying moments.
